Buy the book №2
(Just remembered that I was going to post this a few months ago but some how it got away)
This is a great book I got, called:
Type: A visual History of Typefaces and Graphic styles, Vol. 1
The book is amazing. It’s huge and the print quality is really good.
But the extra awesome thing is, anyone who gets the book, gets a card with an access code to hundreds of high-res scans of old type specimens, and many other visuals of that kind.
I keep planning to do some illustrations using these rich visuals from the book, but as usual I can’t find the time.
Only thing I did use it as an inspiration for, sort of, was that last minute Doodlers Anonymous challenge submission.
BTW, this book has a Vol. 2 but i personally didn’t find it as intriguing as Vol. 1 was to me. Main diference: The first one covers 250 years (1628-1900) and the second one only covers 25 (1901-1938). But this is just my opinion.
