Space textures and animals, my two favorites combined.
These illustrations seem to have a calming effect on me (in an exiting way)

The right one really speaks to me at this time.

Plus DA are giving away a givaway!
Crap I brought from Germany.
I’m pretty sure I brought about 3kg of paper back with me.
I just picked up every brochure/notebook/card that I found interesting.
+ Some of my findings at the Nürenberg flea market (I only picked up the lighter stuff, out of fear of overweight)
These kind of awesome things always arouse two kinds of feelings in me.
1. I want to buy everything (and wish i could afford it)
2. Why am I not making my own cool stuff!? (no time)
So instead of being amazed and inspired I just end up bitter and sad :-/
Apparently, I won! (YAY)
A few days ago I posted about the Doodlers Anonymous birthday chalenge, so seems like that was a success :) I am really glad about it. It really encouraged me to keep doing my thing.. So.. if anyone stumbles upon a piece of styrofoam, send it straight to me!

An illustration i did for hagirsa.com sometime during the summer.
It is for a poem about a black cat in an African forest. (And the worries of the author about bumping into one, in an African forest)
Anyway - I like the way the drawing came out, not so much the coloring. Luckily I Xeroxed it a few times before putting in the colors so I can try again! and again..
Buy the book №2
(Just remembered that I was going to post this a few months ago but some how it got away)
This is a great book I got, called:
Type: A visual History of Typefaces and Graphic styles, Vol. 1
The book is amazing. It’s huge and the print quality is really good.
But the extra awesome thing is, anyone who gets the book, gets a card with an access code to hundreds of high-res scans of old type specimens, and many other visuals of that kind.
I keep planning to do some illustrations using these rich visuals from the book, but as usual I can’t find the time.
Only thing I did use it as an inspiration for, sort of, was that last minute Doodlers Anonymous challenge submission.
BTW, this book has a Vol. 2 but i personally didn’t find it as intriguing as Vol. 1 was to me. Main diference: The first one covers 250 years (1628-1900) and the second one only covers 25 (1901-1938). But this is just my opinion.
My submission for The Dooslers Anonymous 3-year Birthday Givaway. The mission was simply to create a birthday greeting card. So i tried. I decided to use this piece of packaging material I found at work as a canvas. I wonder what they are going to think about this..
